On Saturday, Matthew and I took Monroe to the yacht club pool. After her nap she was a little restless, so we ventured over to the "kiddie pool" to test the water. Although I do not especially like to get into baby pools (due to the high volume of urine), I did it--with a smile on my face--for my sweet punkin. And even though I had to slowly ease into the pool, that was not the case for Monroe. The chill of the water did not phase her at all; she was so fascinated with the water, its reflections, and movement.
Although we had an uneventful weekend, it was special nonetheless because we were all together as a family. :0)
I hope that you all have a great week. Enjoy the pics!

Roll Over, Roll Over...
Two days after we had our 4-month check up and visit at the pediatrician, sweet Monroe decided to roll over from her belly to her back! Woohoo!!! We are so proud of our little punkin. :0)
Although she can roll over now, she only chooses to do so on her time. That's just our stubborn baby, we guess!
Last Monday, Monroe and I, along with Ashley, Bennett and Katie, all loaded up to meet Miss Gracie McCord and see Jami & Michael in Atlanta, GA. Ashley and I prayed very hard about our babies on such a long car ride. We left around 9:30A.M. and didn't make it there until 5:00P.M. By the time we arrived, we had to feed our two babies, which only left us a little bit of time to hold beautiful Gracie. We had to leave by 6:30P.M. to get Bennett & Monroe back in time for dinner and bed at Lake Harding (we stayed with Martee and Brooks Glass).
We enjoyed our visit with the McCords and Glasses so much and were so glad that we were able to make the trip! Gracie is perfect!!! Martee and Brooks were such gracious hosts and we all were so appreciative that they allowed all five of us to stay. :0) Although it was the quickest trip ever, it was well worth it! Katie was such a life saver and, overall, the babies did great!! What a beautiful blessing it is to have such incredible friends!
On another note, Matthew and I celebrated our 5-year wedding anniversary on Friday and then Matthew's 30th birthday on Saturday. It was a special time, indeed. I cannot believe five years have gone by already. I pray that we have 70 more! :0) Also, I cannot believe my precious hubby is 30!! That's 30 years of a beautiful soul's life that we happily celebrated. I feel so richly blessed to be married to such an incredible man and father.
Next week, I will be starting to visit schools to drop off my resume' and I'll be praying so hard that something opens up for next year. I need a job so badly and teaching is the best and most rewarding career I have ever had! God has a plan and I will work my hardest to do my part, then give it all to him and let it be His will.
Well, I better "hit the hay" while I can because "Little Miss Sunshine" will be up bright and early!

Shots Schmotts!
Shots are no fun... any way you look at it! Although they were painful for the "punkin" this morning, they will keep her healthy and that is all that really matters. :0)
Monroe cried more today than last time (2 mo. check up) when receiving her shots. I think it is mostly due to the fact that she is becoming more aware of her surroundings and being more alert, in general. It is all over though... for two more months, at least!
Our punkin is in the 95th percentile for both weight and height. She measured 26 1/8 inches long and weighed 16 pounds, 5 ounces. What a BIG girl we have!!
Dr. Robbie Rux is such a wonderful pediatrician and you can tell that he truly loves what he does. Monroe was all smiles while he was in the room! He told me that she was right on track and doing perfectly. He reassured me that she will roll over when she is ready and that big babies (like her) have more mass, which makes it more difficult. I'm not going to worry about the "rolling over" bit any more and just let it happen when it happens. Obviously, Monroe's reflux and spit-up problems have gotten in the way of productive "Tummy Time" sessions, but Dr. Rux said to keep on practicing. He said that it was just fine for her to be propped up on her Boppy pillow during "Tummy Time" (Thanks, Ashley, for the wonderful suggestion!), as well as trying to get in real "Tummy Time" as often as we can.
All in all, our visit went great. We are so glad that her 4 mo. shots are behind us, and now, I am going to spend the day loving on our sweet girl.
Have a wonderful day!

Constipation=Frustration
On Friday, our poor baby had to endure her first encounter with "constipation" and it was no fun! Usually, I'm changing 4-5 poo diapers a day, which boiled down to... Monroe's pipes work just fine!! That all came to a halt on Friday and lasted throughout today. We tried pear juice and water, which resulted in a bunch of gagging. Next, we tried Karo syrup and water and that seemed to go down slightly better. Nonetheless, I prayed that I wouldn't have to give her either today and I did not! She finally seems to be feeling much, much better and back to normal. :0)
We are not used to our "punkin" being so frustrated and we are just so glad that she is back to normal. Tomorrow, we go to our pediatrician for Monroe's 4 mo. check up and shots. I'm eager to see how much weight she has gained and how long/tall she is now. I thank our precious Father for blessing us with such a healthy, loving baby. She's everything we prayed for and more! Although I know the shots are prevention from illnesses, it is still a hard pill to swallow seeing your helpless baby in pain. Prayers have been said and I know that God will take care of us both. :0) As you know, you must also pray for a mommy's strength--to be as strong, comforting, and nurturing as possible for the baby.
I'll be sure to post her weight and height after the appointment sometime. Your prayers for our punkin are greatly appreciated!

Welcome!
Welcome to our family's blog! This is something that I have wanted to do for quite some time. I originally wanted to create a blog when I was pregnant with Monroe, but that never came to fruition. With the move, working for Matthew's employer's company over the summer, fixing up our home, preparing the nursery for Monroe's arrival, etc., blogging was placed on the back burner.
In the days and weeks to come please bare with me, as I am just learning about the blogging world and how to navigate my way through creating our family's blog page.
I hope that my next post will be filled with details about our little Monroe's next milestone... rolling over. She is so close, yet not fully ready. Poor thing; she is not a fan of the "Tummy Time" that is suggested five minutes each day. She does "Tummy Time" her way--propped up on her Boppy pillow so that her belly isn't completely pressed against the floor/bed/pallet, etc.
Sweet Monroe has terrible Acid Reflux (like her Mama) and a terrible projectile spit-up problem (like her Daddy did), as well as an unusually gassy belly. Therefore, "Tummy Time" is not one of her favorites! Hopefully, with some practice and patience, she will be ready to embark on this major milestone during her 4th month of life. :0)
Matthew and I couldn't be more in love with our precious daughter. God is so good and has truly blessed us with our little angel. She can lift your spirits in a split-second with that beautiful smile, sweet coos, and adorable giggles.
Oh, and we certainly love our precious pups, too!! Daisy, our 10 year old Brittany Spaniel, and Finn, our 2 year old standard Labradoodle, keep us on our toes! Full of love, lots of energy, and mischief, they are our hearts, too. Monroe is rather fond of them both; for they keep her entertained with their crazy antics!
I am excited to share our little family's special moments with our dear friends and family on our blog and I hope that you all enjoy reading. I cannot wait to familiarize myself with this blog and all of its entities, so that I can begin to blog frequently and with ease!
That's all for tonight. I am very thankful that my precious hubby just made it home safely. I'm off to enjoy some family time. :0) Have a great weekend!!
With love,
The Currys
